Karen DeSouza, TEAMS AdministratorMs. DeSouza is a native Californian who began working in the non-profit sector in 1995, as an Administrative Assistant for the Urban Strategies Council. Longing for a more hands-on role in community work, Karen left the Council in 1998 to begin working as a Program Associate for a leadership development fellowship program - Eureka San Francisco Bay Area. Eureka's incorporation of TEAMS' Support Action Team model within the Eureka fellowship, introduced Karen to Judith Rosenberg and an exciting arena of community outreach. In 2000 Karen joined the TEAMS staff as Administrator, broadening her horizons in financial management while still being able to stay connected to the work she loves. TEAMS' local work with community residents and up-and-coming leaders throughout the Bay Area and beyond, has proven a challenging and rewarding experience that she hopes to continue to learn and grow with.
