1. Welcome, leftover feelings, announcementsMembers share community news of general interest and are invited to express briefly any thoughts or feelings left over from the previous meeting. This prevents anyone from being distracted by unresolved issues from previous sessions. 2. Report back on goalsMembers are accountable to one another for progress towards their individual and group goals. Any difficulties are discussed with the group, and people can ask for help and/or revise their goals at each session. 3. Group reports, community boards and other committeesMembers report back on the progress of their Support Action Team and all other community work, asking for help as needed. Work plans may also be developed and revised during this part of the agenda. 4. Training topic on leadership developmentA brief presentation on a topic relevant to the challenges faced by the group members is followed by a participatory exercise on the topic. 5. Peer consultation or case studyThis is an opportunity to go into greater depth on one or two situations being addressed by the members in their work in the community. The focus is on peer learning and extending the lessons learned to each other’s work. 6. Support GroupMembers have the option of signing up for a personal turn to address an issue in their life. People use personal time in a variety of ways: to celebrate a success, to ask for people to listen to their pain without comment, to ask for practical help or for resources outside of the group. Each person determines the kind of support they want from the group. 7. Wrap-up and appreciationsEach person shares something they’ve
learned, something they appreciate and anything they would like to change
about the meeting. |
